Back to School Night: Part III

Tonight we walked into the kids' school and, because this is Luke's third school year there, he acted like he owned the place. He's now in a grade that starts with a number, and since he's been sporting his age using two hands for over a month now, he's feeling pretty high on the totem pole. This feeling of premature maturity was exacerbated by the many teachers and students who sought him out to welcome him back to school and give him a high-five. His teachers seemed fantastic! He's in a multi-age learning class room with 1st and 2nd graders, and I'm very excited for what this year will bring...

As we walked into Beau's class, I couldn't fight the tears swelling up in my eyes. He timidly checked out the entire classroom, and once he found his favorite activity, the puzzles, he seemed to feel right at home. His teacher seemed impressed with his expert puzzle solving abilities, and she is a fellow blogger, so I think this year will be a great one!
